Where is the app?
Warm Mittens lives in the menu bar: click the snowflake. If your menu bar is full (or hidden by the notch), turn on "Show in Dock" in the panel and use the Dock icon instead.
The snow doesn't pile up
Open the panel, then Drifts, and turn on "Pile up at the bottom". Turn Snowfall up for a faster drift. The plow tile sends the snowplow to clear it; click the plow for a boost.
Snow covers my windows
Under "Where it snows", turn off "Snow in front of windows" to let it snow only on the desktop behind your windows. Snow never blocks your clicks either way.
Icicles
Icicles grow under your windows while it snows. Shake a window, or drag the mouse through them with the button held, to snap them off. You can turn them off under "Where it snows".
Snowballs
Press the Snowball tile, pick a friend (or "Me" to try it), aim, set the power and throw. To add a friend, share your code (like SNOW-7K3Q) and add theirs; you both have to accept. You can throw 10 snowballs a day, or 100 with Warm Mittens Pro. Right-click a friend to remove them.
Warm Mittens Pro
A one-time purchase that adds Santa's sleigh, the flamethrower and the giant snowball to the clearing crew, and raises your snowballs to 100 a day. Bought on another Mac? Open the panel, then Clearing crew, and press Restore.
I bought Pro, but still have 10 snowballs a day
The higher limit is switched on by the snowball server after it checks your purchase with Apple. If you bought Pro while offline, or on another Mac, that check may not have happened yet. Open the snowball window and click "Restore Pro" next to the count (or press Restore in Clearing crew), with internet on. Still stuck? Write to me and include your friend code, and I'll sort it out.
About the snowball service
Snowballs between friends, and the daily snowball limit, run on a small online service that I keep running. Online services can change, and one day it may be discontinued. If that happens, everything else keeps working: the snow, drifts, icicles, the plow, and the Pro crew (Santa, the flamethrower and the giant snowball), which run entirely on your Mac and are yours to keep.
Delete my data
In the snowball window, open "Add a friend…" and choose "Delete my snowball account…". See the privacy policy for what is stored.
